has begun to turn away from that first love. He may still continue to go through the outward motions of a believer, but something within him is drying up. He is losing his sense of adoration for the God who has saved him. This waning of this first love is enough to allow an altar of sexual idolatry to be erected in a person’s heart, and once established, he will turn from worshipping God to worshipping the perversion of sexual lust. Another aspect is the old prideful nature which begins to reemerge.
